BRANDING / INTERACTIVE: SKRATCHER
DESCRIPTION: INTERFACE DESIGN FOR INTERACTIVE DJ IPAD APPLICATION
This user interface is designed for scratch DJs who owns the iPad. The user has the ability to connect the iPad to their DJ mixer and play and scratch along to the loops (instrumentals) that is provided. The application wil also contain videos of how to scratch tutorials. To give this application more of the interactive experience the app also provides a virtual turntable to scratch on the iPad.

The process taken to create this concept was done by research of existing DJ applications, online DJ tutorials and person to person DJ surveys. Through research I was able to find out that a lot of DJs are turning towards new technologies to up their skills. So by designing an application for the iPad and turning it to midi-controller / sampler, the DJ is now able to take their practice anywhere. Vist SKRATCHER.CA
ABOUT SKRATCHER: Created to share and inspire existing and upcoming Turntable enthusiasts. Skratcher was formed to allow people to explore the art and beauty of Turntablism as a community. The SKRATCHER event series is a medium for turntable enthusiasts to unite as a community, to showcase talent, and to progress the overlooked art form of Turntablism. Our brand aims to provide an audience for upcoming and existing turntablists and to facilitate the resurgence of “scratch DJs”.
Under the SKRATCHER name we will develop bigger events, provide better venues, facilitate music communities, create lifestyle merchandise, and be product ambassadors for the audio and music industries. Through exposure via online and offline media, connection with turntablist, producers and overall music communities, we will continue to progress the SKRATCHER events and, in turn, progress the turntablist scene in Vancouver and beyond.
